Shin Tak Scientific Research Youth Development Program: Beijing & Xi’an Aerospace Tour 2024-2025

Since 2015, the Shin Tak Foundation has organized the “Scientific Research Youth Development Program – China Aerospace Journey” for eight consecutive years. With the mission “Compassion as the foundation, technology as the application,” the program fully sponsors about 1,000 outstanding local secondary students to explore Mainland China’s advancements in science and aerospace. The initiative fosters a passion for innovation, encourages participation in national high-tech development and nurtures a strong sense of national identity - empowering youth to shape the future through science and education.

Program Objectives

  • Visit leading research institutions to explore China’s achievements in aerospace and aviation development.
  • Explore historic landmarks to deepen appreciation of Chinese culture and foster a strong sense of national identity.
  • Promote peace and development by understanding how technological advancement contributes to national security.

Program Highlights

  • Breaking the mold of traditional study tours, the delegation leverages exclusive resources to visit national-level aerospace research institutions. Months in advance, astronauts and experts are invited to deliver specialized lectures and thematic sessions.
  • Each technical visit is paired with structured learning, including pre-visit briefings and post-visit discussions. Feedback is gathered through surveys, on-site observations, and evening group presentations to ensure deep engagement.
  • Students gain interdisciplinary knowledge, offering a comprehensive understanding of China’s cutting-edge aerospace advancements.

Program Overview

This 9-day, 8-night Aerospace Technology Delegation to Beijing and Xi’an offers students a unique chance to visit national aerospace research centers, leading tech enterprises and historic landmarks. Highlights include attending the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square and participating forums and sharing sessions.The program follows the theme “Know the Past, Love Learning, Understand the Present, Envision the Future”—designed to inspire national pride and curiosity. 

In 2025, 4 cross-disciplinary experts will join the delegation to discuss national security and AI and discover how precision impacts rocket launches—connecting space science with real-world challenges.

張佳鈺 was deeply impressed by the details of "eccentric training" shared during the lecture on Astronaut Selection and Training. She said, “I felt uncomfortable just experiencing a 1.1G load but astronauts push through and gradually reach up to 8G. Their perseverance is truly inspiring.”

A Captivating Talk That Brought “Beijing-1” to Life

曾慶濼 had an unforgettable experience during a lecture at Beihang University. “Professor Shen Xingyun made rocket science fun—he used a soda bottle to demonstrate how rockets launch from fuel consumption to lift-off and stage separation. Learning that scientists completed an aircraft in only 3.5 months was truly remarkable. Their determination and teamwork truly inspired me.”

A Breathtaking Night Tour of Datang Paradise

A foreign student, 龐麗嘉, was amazed by the dazzling Datang Everbright City under the night sky. “It was a great honor to witness something so breathtaking in person,” she said. She shared that the trip broadened her perspective and pushed her out of her comfort zone, helping her grow and connect closer with others.
