In October 2020, shortly after the Hong Kong National Security Law came into effect, the Shin Tak Foundation partnered with the Youth Education Development Centre to launch the first and largest online challenge on the law. All local secondary school students were welcomed to learn about such topic through fun and interactive games. In 2021, national security education was officially added to the school curriculum. To support this, we co-organized the "National Security Education General Knowledge Inter-school Challenge" again and it was further supported by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, the New Territories School Heads Association, the Kowloon Region School Heads Association and the Hong Kong Island School Heads Association to carry out a series of related activities.

Objectives

Through interactive quizzes, students discover how national security shapes everyday life in Hong Kong, from rights and responsibilities to key legal principles.
To help students understand the importance of safeguarding national security.
To overcome the limitations of in-person activities during school closures by offering an online quiz format.
To deepen students’ understanding of the Hong Kong National Security Law and broaden their horizons by learning about laws and measures adopted by other countries to protect national security.
To encourage students to seek truth and knowledge through quiz-based learning, enhancing their motivation and fostering a positive learning attitude.
